Adding SmartSense Devices

How to add SmartSense Devices to Platform?

1. From your SmartSense platform dashboard, navigate to the side panel(navigation bar).

2. Under Device Management click "Add Device" and wait for the input form to load.

3. Select the Device Family
Device Family: The device Type (Smart-View Thermo or Smart-View Util) to be added
Upon selecting a Device Family, the input form for the specified Device Family will be loaded.

How to add a Smart-View Thermo Family Device Type?.

1. Enter the device ID, then select the Device Type.

There are three device types for the Smart-View-Thermo device family
Temperature
Temperature and Humidity
Temperature, Humidity and CO2

2. Enter the Device Name and the Device Coordinates accordingly.

Input data fields respective to the selected Device Type will appear below “Assign Group” input field

3. Selecting the User to assign the device to. Groups to which the user belongs to will appear in the "Assign Group" select input field.

4. If the user does not have any groups assigned to them. An option to add a group for the user will appear.

5. Input the device data then Click "SEND" once the button appears to save the device.

If there is incorrect input data the "SEND" button will not appear.
The device ID will be a 6 digit Alphanumerical value.

How to add a Smart-View Util Family Device Type?.

1. Enter the device ID, then select the Device Type.

There are seven device types for the Smart-View-Util device family
4-20mA Temperature Sensor
4-20mA Humidity Sensor
4-20mA Pressure Sensor
4-20mA Other
Pulse
Pressure
Level Sensor

2. Enter the Device Name and the Device Coordinates accordingly.

Input data fields respective to the selected Device Type will appear below “Assign Group” input field

4. If the user does not have any groups assigned to them. An option to add a group for the user will appear.

Common mistakes:

Duplicate Device IDs.
